ETERNAL FLAME – PET NAME ROXY
NOVEMBER 1992 – DECEMBER 2008
Roxy was my first “own dog”. From the RSPCA in Lancaster, her mother was a German shepherd that had been on the street, came in to rescue and had a litter of puppies. We never knew her father obviously but guess he had some lurcher of some kind in him as Roxy was always a slim and slender girl with a bright orange coat like a fox. Like all my Canine teachers I learned so much from Roxy, she suffered terribly from separation anxiety as a young dog and this lead to her going to live with my Mum who was at home all day when she was about three years old. In her maturity the anxiety lessened and became non existent. When Mum moved to Majorca about five years ago, Roxy went too and lived out her final days in sunbathing bliss in Mums front garden. What a grand old lady. I am so glad to have known you Roxy; you were a wild child in your youth and a dignified lady till the end. You didn’t suffer long which is comforting as I remember you. Now you can run fast again Roxy like the wild child you were, xxxx
